Graduate Research Paper Competition

Overview

This program provides an opportunity for graduate students to compete nationally and obtain recognition for their outstanding research efforts. Six finalists will recieve a a $500 travel grant to present their research at the IFT Annual Meeting (summer). The first, second, and third place winners will receive additional cash awards of $1000, $750, $500, respectively. All finalists will receive a plaque.

The competition is open to graduate students who are Student Association members as of December 31, one year prior to the competition and who have not graduated before July 1 one year prior to the competition. All entries must be submitted according to competition rules and procedures. Further information can be found in the September issue of Food Technology, by contacting your department head, or GRPC chair.

The IFTSA would like to thank Proctor and Gamble and the Phi Tau Sigma Honor Society for Food Science for their sponsorship of this event.

Important Dates for 2008

  • January 7: Abstracts and intent to enter due.
  • March 10: Semi-finalists notified.
  • March 31: Written research summary and intent to continue due.
  • May 12: Finalists notified.
